A smarter approach

to genetics led horse management

FractureGR brings equine genetics and health data together to help racing professionals identify risk earlier, make more informed decisions and support healthier careers on and off the track.

About FractureGR

FractureGR bridges the gap between genetic research and practical horse management.

Developed from the latest scientific advances in equine genetics, the platform transforms complex data into accessible information that helps industry professionals make more informed decisions and support better outcomes for Thoroughbreds throughout their careers

The Problem

Despite existing safety measures, more than 1,000 fatal racecourse fractures occur worldwide each year, resulting in losses ranging from £10Ks to £1Ms per horse.

Genetic susceptibility is an important factor contributing to fractures, but one that
is often overlooked. Beyond the economic impact, these injuries raise major welfare
concerns and can damage public confidence in racing. Reducing fractures is
therefore essential to protecting horse welfare, maintaining trust in the sport,
and supporting the long-term sustainability of the racing industry

Value Proposition

FractureGR turns genetic insight into measurable value. By adding genetics to existing monitoring technologies, we aim to improve injury prediction accuracy from 60% to 80% and reduce fractures.

Earlier identification of genetic susceptibility can inform training, veterinary assessment and monitoring decisions, helping horses achieve their performance potential while protecting investment.

FractureGR also aims to reduce avoidable economic losses by up to 50%, optimise veterinary resources, reduce liability and demonstrate the racing industry’s proactive commitment to horse welfare, supporting
both cost reduction and improved revenues
